No, this is not directed to the LOML. Just because I’m going to email, text, fax, tag, and print a copy of this particular post to him…doesn’t mean anything. Really. It is just a coincidence!
Also for no particular reason, all of these ideas can be done within a 20 mile radius of where we live! These are ‘just in case’ anyone needs a few suggestions, ideas or nudges…HINT HINT, WINK WINK.
1. Sunset Ranch Hollywood
Take a leisurely horseback ride through the Hollywood Hills. Watch the sunset together with your love. Graze past the Hollywood sign and end up at Viva Mexican restaurant in Burbank for a tasty dinner and a cool margarita!
2. Romancing the Screen at the Egyptian Theater
All weekend long this historical old Hollywood theater is playing over the top, classic movies like Breakfast at Tiffany’s. On a side note: if you’re like me and think Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a little depressing, you can always head over to the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica where they are screening Casablanca! Either way, snuggle up and maybe have a make out session during the movie!
3. Griffith Park Observatory and Cafe at the End of the Universe
The best view of the city, hands down is located at the Observatory. It encompasses the Hollywood sign, the ocean and the skyline of Los Angeles. The building itself is beautiful having been featured in numerous movies and television shows through the years. Have a bite to eat at the Cafe and gaze at the stars and your love!
4. Adams House Malibu
I am a sucker for the beach and the Adamson House is a perfect excuse to do something other than go in the freezing cold Pacific. As their website says, this historical landmark, “casts a magical spell, allowing visitors to evoke old California in a way few places can.” After your visit walk over to the Malibu Pier and have a cocktail at The Beachcomber while watching the surfers do their thing at one of the most famous surf breaks in the world, First Point.
5. Huntington Library Pasadena
Stroll though the beautiful gardens of this majestic museum and library. View the art, (Little Boy Blue and Pinkie live here!), smell the roses in the Rose Garden, recite sonnets of love to each other in the Shakespeare Garden. Then have a spot of tea and a scone in the Tea Room. You will feel so very civilized and cultured, you will want to go wild later that night!
So, these are just a few of my favorite ideas to get cozy with your partner. Anyone else have suggestions in the Los Angeles area? Let me know. I’m always open to new ideas I can share with the LOML…just in case he needs it!
